Whatcom County Pools

Boy Swimming in Skagit County compressed
The Arne Hanna Aquatic Center
has four swimming pools. The pools include a beach-entry kiddie pool with a 135-foot waterslide, a dive tank with a one-meter spring board, 8-lane lap pool and a hydrotherapy pool for age 16 and older. The aquatic center offers preschool and youth swimming lessons, open swim (waterslide is open) and family swim times (waterslide is not open). The aquatic center also offers water childcare. During this time, parents can take a water class while their child (3 years or older) plays in the water with a lifeguard! What a great opportunity for exercise! Check out their website for details on classes and swim times!

The Bayside Swimming Club offers summertime swimming in our beautiful city. They have an outdoor 30' by 75' swimming pool with four lap lanes, a diving board, a hot tub and a wading pool. You have to be a member to be able to enjoy the open swim times. However, the swimming lessons are for members or non-members. They also offer the Bayside Baracudas swim team for seven weeks in the summer!

You do not have to be a member of Bellingham Athletic Club to take advantage of their swim lessons for all ages. The club offers group and private swim lessons to the public. The club also offers the introductory level Blue Baracudas Swim Team that is available to any kids who have passed the Manatee level swim lessons.

Whatcom Family YMCA has three pools to choose from. Two are at the Bellingham YMCA and include a small and large pool, and the other is at the Lynden YMCA. Each location offers swimming lessons, family and open swim, water fitness and the Dolphins Swim Team.

The YMCA has a Safety Around Water program that is available to children ages 5-11 years old that is no cost because of a generous donation from Phillips 66. Please click the link above for details.

Sudden Valley YMCA Pool is open from June 17th to September 3rd, 2017. This is a seasonal pool and offers swim lesson from 6 months and up.
