Little Sprouts Learning is a unique, pre-scholastic, learn-through-play program. Led by an educator, Little Sprouts features hands-on experiments and imaginative make-and-take home projects designed to nurture young minds and develop a good understanding of core literacy concepts, including art, history, math, and science. This month our theme is Hablando Español, a bilingual cultural program inspired by our exhibition Images of Resilience: Chicana/o Art and its Mexican Roots. It is designed to teach children basic Spanish and help them develop good pronunciation skills and an appreciation of Spanish-speaking cultures. For ages 18-months – 6 years with an accompanying adult; Included with admission/Members free.

Sept. 6 & 8: Frozen Treasure Chest Hunt—Press, flip, twist, turn, and tinker with lots of gadgets to unlock the frozen treasure chest. Open and sprinkle with salt to uncover hidden treasures, while discovering how and why salt melts ice and dissolves quickly in water.

Sept. 20 & 22: Fun with Floam: A Sensory Exploration in Geometry—Twist, roll, and press our colorful, lumpy, and gooey Floam into molds that create geometric shapes.

Sept. 27 & 29: The Wild Edible Desert—Experience the Art of the American West and learn which plants in the wild, wild western deserts are safe, tasty, and nutritious to eat!
